Cotels had a Quacking Time at the Business Travel Show

The Business Travel Show held at Olympia, London last week, 25th to 26th February attracted a record number of visitors with an estimated 7,200 attending this year – a growth of 10% on 2014. It is the leading specialised event for European travel buyers and managers with 580 conference sessions for delegates to select from.

For the 5th year running, Team Cotels exhibited at the show and enjoyed a busy couple of days interacting with delegates.

BTS-SonjaOur reservations manager Sonya and MD Marcia headed down from Milton Keynes on Tuesday afternoon to set the stand up in preparation for the days ahead. They then made their way across London to Ealing where they were met by Geoff Owen, Director of West London Serviced Apartments, who kindly provided us with a complimentary stay for all our staff at their brand new apartment building.

After a long, strenuous day, the accommodation was a most welcome retreat with many restaurants and eateries available right on the doorstep. The complimentary welcome pack was a most appreciated gesture with more than just the usual items such as tea/coffee, but fresh fruit, fruit juice, jams, bread, cans of drink and a host of other goodies to see us through to the following day.

After a great night’s sleep Team Cotels’ were up and about bright and early ready for what we hoped would be a busy day at the Business Travel Show …. and it was!

Cotels stand was buzzing throughout the day with lots of familiar faces and many new ones too. Our social media photo booth ‘Quacked-up’ to be really popular. The attached images are a clear illustration of just how much fun was had!

But the hard work and fun did not stop there as we were also very pleased to have been invited to the ‘Silverdoor International Serviced Apartments’ 15th Birthday Party – and what a party it was. As always Silverdoor were the perfect hosts and put on a show to remember.

Day 2 was yet again a busy one and proved to be a huge success providing us with the opportunity to touch base with perspective new clients.

The event, in addition to the many activities, saw a celebrity chef show visitors how to cook for one in a serviced apartment kitchen. For companies involved in booking corporate travel accommodation or for business travellers this was very insightful and highlighted how effortless it can be to stay healthy while travelling. It also reminded those who have not experienced a serviced apartment stay of the positive features they offer at a lower cost than a short to long-term hotel stay.
