Whilst we were exhibiting at the Business Travel Show exhibition last month in London, Cotels presented a questionnaire to delegates attending. The purpose was so that we could gauge people’s awareness of serviced apartments as well as to gain an insight into what it is that people look for when they go about booking business travel or leisure accommodation.
Of those who completed the questionnaire, 72% said they knew about the serviced apartments industry and of those, 41% said they had stayed in such accommodation on one or more occasion.
When planning to travel, the most important criteria considered are price (23%) and location (26%) followed by cleanliness (16%). Features such as parking facilities, furnishings, Wi-Fi and the type of TV were not mentioned as important criteria when choosing accommodation and making a booking.
The majority of participants said they use the internet to search for the right type of accommodation to meet their requirements with just 3% using a travel agent or referrals.

While many features were not listed as important criteria in deciding where to stay, we know that once guests have checked in to their hotel room or serviced apartment, features are noticed and go along way to making a stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. All Cotels apartments are stylishly furnished, have Sky, Wi-Fi and parking fully included at no extra cost and have modern, well equipped kitchens.
