Participation of a legendary racing driver
Sir Stirling Moss OBE, Britain’s best-loved and most famous racing driver, will make his racing comeback at the Silverstone Classic. He will race his beautiful 1950s Osca sports-racing car on the Silverstone Historic Grand Prix circuit in the hour-long Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy, a race in the series for pre 1956 sports-racing cars organised by Motor Racing Legends.
What is the Silverstone Classic Motor Racing Event?
This event has been branded the world’s biggest classic racing festival and a glorious celebration of motor racing heritage. It is a complete event dedicated to providing a fabulous day or weekend out for everyone.
On-track 1000 hard-charging racers will do battle in 800 cars spanning seven decades of motor racing heritage. In total, 23 races will cover Grand Prix cars, sports, GT, saloon and single-seater racing cars from 1930 to the 1990s.
This year the event will be celebrating 60 years of the Formula 1 World Championship, which started at Silverstone in May 1950, with three dedicated races to capture the romance, development and British influence on motor sport.

Live music will be a big feature of the Silverstone Classic in 2010, with major concerts on the evenings of both Friday (23 July) and Saturday (24 July). Entry to both concerts will be included within the circuit admission charge.
Before the live concert starts on Saturday evening, there will be an important auction of classic cars and memorabilia, organised by Bonhams Motoring Department, the largest auction house.
Along with the racing and rocking, Silverstone will be packed with off-track activities and attractions to make it a weekend to suit the whole family.
