3 awesome autumn activities in Luton
The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder and the leaves on the trees are turning to shades of orange and red. It can only mean one thing – autumn is here.
We’ve put together our top three favourite things to do in Luton this autumn, so wrap up warm and enjoy the crisp weather, wildlife and nature in all its glory…
Stockwood Park
With a museum, a play area, a golf course and plenty of big open gardens, Stockwood Park is the perfect autumn day out for the whole family. Whilst it’s the perfect place for a picnic throughout the summer months, why not visit the Garden Cafe for some delicious, hot food instead?
This autumn, the entries from the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition will be displayed in an exhibit in the Stockwood Discover Centre. For those with a passion for photography, or those who would simply enjoy cultural activities, why not go and admire the photographs and enjoy a day out at the same time?
Get active with FootGolf
Staying active and exercising might not appeal to you as much now the days are getting colder, so why not try out a new sport so you can stay in shape whilst having fun at the same time? FootGolf, where players compete to kick a football into a hole in as few shots as possible, is a great way for families, friends and work colleagues to get some fresh air, get active and have a great time.
At Active Luton, players can enjoy a weekend special of FootGolf, Beer and a Burger for £11pp. What are you waiting for? Get a team together and on your marks…get set…go!
Whipsnade Zoo
Heading just outside of Luton to Dunstable, couples, families and friends can spend an autumnal day out with some furry (and scaly!) friends at Whipsnade Zoo. From Lions and Tigers to Penguins and Elephants, the zoo is home to many of our very favourite animals – and there’s even opportunities to meet the animals and watch them being fed.
To celebrate Halloween this autumn, Boo at the Zoo is returning for 2017. Visit the zoo between the 21st-31st October to enjoy the Eerie Express, Ghastly Golf, The Museum of Fantastic Creatures and much, much more!
Don’t forget to check out Cotels to see the luxury serviced apartments we have available in Luton – a perfect and comfortable place to spend the night after a busy day of autumnal activities!
