Business Meetings: Face-to-Face or Virtual?

Technology now enables the majority of meetings to be held virtually; this technology growth has also coincided with cuts in business travel budgets. But is this a false economy?
Forbes asked 750 business executives about their meetings and travel preferences. Executives reported that their use of virtual meetings had risen by 59% as a result of cuts in business travel budgets. However, despite this rise in the use of virtual meetings, 84% expressed a preference for face-to-face meetings.
When questioned the reasons for their choices, the explanations were split into two simple categories. Preferences for virtual meetings related to functionality and efficiencies.  Whereas, preferences for face-to-face meetings identified benefits related to the quality and depth of relationship building and the creation of conditions conducive to strong decision-making.
It seems that pitching face-to-face Vs virtual meetings is a false argument; the best thing to do is to combine them. Decisions on how to hold meetings should be geared towards aims and objectives, not just cost-effectiveness > https://bit.ly/2vBDBCF
